iRepertoire, USA

Dr. Jian Han, MD, PhD

Dr. Jian Han is a pioneering scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur in the field of immune repertoire sequencing. As the founder and Chief Scientific Officer of iRepertoire, Dr. Han has led the development of multiplex PCR technologies—including tem-PCR, arm-PCR, and dam-PCR—that enable high-throughput, quantitative sequencing of T and B cell receptors for both research and clinical applications.

He directed the Repertoire 10K (R10K) Project, an international initiative aimed at sequencing immune repertoires from 10,000 individuals across 100 diseases. This work helped establish the field of “immunorepertoremics,” integrating adaptive immune profiling with systems biology to uncover diagnostic and therapeutic insights.

Dr. Han graduated from Suzhou Medical College in China in 1983, and obtained his Ph.D.  In Medical Genetics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1991. He also served as R&D Director at Qiagen and as a faculty investigator at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. He is serial entrepreneur and founded Genaco (acquired by Qiagen) and Diatherix (Acquired by Eurofins) before starting current companies (iCubate and iRepertoire)
