Maria Martinez

Maria Martinez is pursuing a PhD in Computational Chemistry at Chemotargets (Barcelona, Spain) through a joint programme with the University of Girona. Her research focuses on developing AI/ML computational tools for chemical, pharmacological, and safety data analysis in drug discovery.

She graduated as a Biomedical Engineer from the University of Navarra in 2021 and obtained a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Barcelona in 2022. In the same year, she joined the Systems Pharmacology group lead by Dr. Jordi Mestres at the IMIM Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute as a researcher, from which she then moved to Chemotargets as a software engineer. She is the main developer behind the CIPsee platform, a new Chemical Intellectual Property lens to search, analyse and expand molecules in patent documents (https://cipsee.com/).
