Valerio Conti

Valerio Conti, PhD, is a geneticist and neurobiologist specializing in epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders. He earned his PhD at the University of Pisa, Italy, studying ataxic mouse models. He has also been a visiting scientist at the Pasteur Institute (Paris) and INMED (Marseille), France. Since 2015, he has worked at the University Hospital Meyer, focusing on the genetic and functional characterization at the cellular level of patients with developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEE). In 2022, he became head of the Laboratory of Neurobiology, and in 2024, head of the Cellular and Morphofunctional Neurobiology Research Unit. His research combines confocal immunofluorescence, electrophysiological techniques, and multiomics analyses in patient-derived neuronal models and surgical brain specimens. Dr. Conti has co-authored over 55 peer-reviewed articles and four book chapters, with an H-index of 27 (Scopus).
